The issue of how loyal or to what extent Muslims belong in Britain is a topical debate of our times.

This book addresses a number of the pertinent issues relating to the current status of British Muslims who are under increasing public scrutiny in expressed terms of their allegiances and loyalties. The notions of loyalty and belonging are approached from two perspectives: the traditional Islamic view from the Shariah and a contemporary perspective bearing in mind the sociological, political and legal dimensions of the discussion.
